Second Card Class at Stamp Fever

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I sure did.

Since I teach at Stamp Fever every 4th Saturday, my second card class ended up falling on my 6th wedding anniversary. Since I had a good turn out on my first class (10 ladies) my Husband suggested I still teach on Saturday and that we would take an early vacation for our anniversary.  Isn't he the BEST!!!!! So we headed to Palm Springs on Wednesday and were back Friday night just in time for me to get ready for my Saturday class. I had prepared my kits before we left so all I had to do was pack up my supplies.

I had 10 lovely ladies join me for my second class on Saturday. Most of which I hadn't met yet. We started at 10am and just like my first class, four hours later we finished at 2:15! If this continues, we might need to start telling people to pack a lunch :-) I did however bring a few snacks for people to munch on.

I have another class tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept 27th with another 6 ladies that couldn't make it to Saturday's class and asked if I could do another class with the same cards during the week. Exciting right!

Here are some pictures from my Saturday class thanks to my 7 yr old Daughter Jordan who grabbed my phone and decided to take pictures of everyone :-)

Here is a pic of Tables 1 & 2 working on their Thanksgiving Cards
Here is Table 3 working on their Halloween Cards. I had 2 little mini crafters join me. Kayli and Piper are 11 years old and had a blast too. Look at all those Lawn Fawn stamps in the background :-)
Her is Piper and Kayli with their completed cards. They did such a great job.
Here are more happy crafters showing off their cards for my daughter :-)
I love how they colored their houses the colors they liked best.

This is Piper's Thanksgiving card. I love how she added her own touch to the background.
11 year olds are sure creative.
 Here's Kayli crafting away
We even got Linda in on the FUN!!! Here is Linda making a Thanksgiving card.
Happy Stamping,

Heart Warming Birthday Card for a Special Lady

I was asked by a co-worker to make a card for her BFF. Since it has a picture I asked her if I could post it here. My co-workers BFF has battled breast cancer for the last 8 1/2 years. Recently the cancer has spread to her brain and is getting worse. Her birthday is next week and she asked me to make her BFF a special card to show her how much she loves her. She asked me to include a few things, 1. that it included one of her favorite pictures of them, 2. to include a pink ribbon and 3. she mentioned her nickname was "Red". In the card request email she sent me, she stated that her BFF is also a card maker/scrapbooker and will really love and appreciate one of my cards. I was so touched that she considered me to make such a special card and I really wanted to make something special, not only for the wonderful brave lady receiving it, but also for her BFF (my co-worker) that I hope would express their friendship. Here is what I came up with.

This is the card closed.
I used the picture she provided me and and made a frame with nestabilities. I also used a piece of transparency over the picture to protect it. The paper is My Minds Eye "Pretty Please". The cake I made with Lawn Fawn "Bake me a Cake" stamp set by paper piecing it. As you already know, I LOVE this set! I added stickles for the frosting for that added bling. The birds to the left of the picture is also Lawn Fawn and is from the mini set "Fly Free". The (You inspire me) is from Hero Arts "Friends"stamp set. "Red" I made using Lawn Fawn "Jessie's ABC's". Best Friends is made with Lawn Fawn "Say Cheese Too".

Here is the card Open in the "Standing" position.
I used the Hero Arts "Friends" set to stamp all over the paper. The sentiment is Hero Arts "Sending Smiles Messages". I used Distress Ink in "Briken China" to go around each layer and on the sentiment section I also used "Bundled Sage".

Here is a close up of the little bird holding the pink breast cancer ribbon. I wanted the bird and the ribbon to be on the side of the person battling as if to say it was watching over her. I cut it with my cricut initially but at the size I cut it I didn't think it looked good so I hand cut this one.

Here is a close up of the cake and all my paper piecing. All the papers used were from the same mini 6x6 stack. which I actually got free with a cardmeking magazine I bought. SCORE!!
I'm very happy with the way this card turned out and I was so inspired by her story. My co-worker loved it and I hope "Red" does too. She is definately in my thoughts and prayers.

Party Decorations for my Niece's First Birthday

My adorable little niece Ryleigh turned 1 on Sept. 3rd and I made most of the decorations. I made the banner using mostly punches and my Martha Stewart circle cutter tool. I printed the letters directly on the paper using word. I used black pipe cleaner for the antennas and used bling for the eyes. The center pieces and the tags for the candy area I made in word and again just used a punch to cut them out. I designed little strips that went around the baby food jars that were the guests thank you gifts. I really loved the way they came out!

1st Card for Card Class Sept 24th

I stopped at Stamp Fever today on my day off and picked up the new stamps I ordered and got right to making a card for my next class on Sept 24th. That day happens to also be my 6 yr wedding anniversary. I initially wasn't going to have a class but my hubby said after such a great class last month he insisted I have my class anyway and celebrate after my class. Isn't he the best!!

For this card I was inspired by a hero arts video I saw earlier today but I used the cute new Halloween stamp set by Lawn Fawn. The background is made using distress inks and masking. The house is colored with copics. Do you see the little ghost? I stamped him on transparency with staz on then cut him out leaving a little strip to attach him to the house. Hope you like it. More cards to come, I bought some adorable sets today :-)

My First Class Overview

Haha you can tell I work in an office with my use of the word "overview"! So my first class at Stamp Fever was on Aug 27th. I had planned to make 2 cards, my shaker card and my emboss resist card. But as you can see in my last post, I made 3 instead. Class started at 10am and I had a total of 9 ladies signed up plus my little crafter my daughter Jordan and my friends daughter Chloe. I was so nervous for my first class that I couldn't sleep!! I mean I REALLY couldn't sleep. I fell asleep sometime after 2am and woke up at 6am. I was so afraid I was going to forget something.
Class went very well and the ladies had fun making their cards. I had brought my copics to share and everyone got to color. Everyone was having so much fun coloring our first card too a little over an hour. And since they were having fun, we continued on for a total of 4 hours!! Nancy came in the beginning and took some pictures. They are posted on the stamp fever store blog as well but I wanted to share them here.
I want to thank Bonnie, her mom Lillie, my sister Nubia, Trish, Joleen, Barbara, Kim, Darla and Lisa for coming to my first class. I hope to see you there again I had a blast!
Can't wait for my next class!!

3rd card from first card class

So I finally got back to stamp fever today to take a picture of the 3rd card I had made for my first card class a week ago. I was asked by a lovely lady named Barbara to show her something new. So at midnight the night prior to my class I was designing a 3rd card and making 15 card kits. Gotta love my husband because he thought I was crazy and kept telling me to go to bed :-).
So can you find the cool part?? Okay I'll tell you :-) I embossed transparency and added it over the teal for the water. Then I cut her feet off and added them under the transparency so it looked like they were under the water. The stamp is penny black fun in the sun. The ladies loved this new technique. Hope you like it too!
