My First Class Overview

Haha you can tell I work in an office with my use of the word "overview"! So my first class at Stamp Fever was on Aug 27th. I had planned to make 2 cards, my shaker card and my emboss resist card. But as you can see in my last post, I made 3 instead. Class started at 10am and I had a total of 9 ladies signed up plus my little crafter my daughter Jordan and my friends daughter Chloe. I was so nervous for my first class that I couldn't sleep!! I mean I REALLY couldn't sleep. I fell asleep sometime after 2am and woke up at 6am. I was so afraid I was going to forget something.
Class went very well and the ladies had fun making their cards. I had brought my copics to share and everyone got to color. Everyone was having so much fun coloring our first card too a little over an hour. And since they were having fun, we continued on for a total of 4 hours!! Nancy came in the beginning and took some pictures. They are posted on the stamp fever store blog as well but I wanted to share them here.
I want to thank Bonnie, her mom Lillie, my sister Nubia, Trish, Joleen, Barbara, Kim, Darla and Lisa for coming to my first class. I hope to see you there again I had a blast!
Can't wait for my next class!!

3rd card from first card class

So I finally got back to stamp fever today to take a picture of the 3rd card I had made for my first card class a week ago. I was asked by a lovely lady named Barbara to show her something new. So at midnight the night prior to my class I was designing a 3rd card and making 15 card kits. Gotta love my husband because he thought I was crazy and kept telling me to go to bed :-).
So can you find the cool part?? Okay I'll tell you :-) I embossed transparency and added it over the teal for the water. Then I cut her feet off and added them under the transparency so it looked like they were under the water. The stamp is penny black fun in the sun. The ladies loved this new technique. Hope you like it too!

My Official Announcement

I've been waiting a week to post this announcement but wait no more... I am joining the Stamp Fever team as their newest design team member. I will also be teaching a card class once a month. You can see the whole announcement here. I'm very excited about this and cant wait for my first class which is on August 27th. I look forward to posting my class cards here so you can see what I've come up with. I'm very blessed to have this opportunity and I want to thank the ladies at Stamp Fever for asking me to join their wonderful team.
A funny story about how I found Stamp Fever to go with my announcement. I was looking through a Paper Crafts magazine one day and saw an adorable stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I had not heard of them before and decided to go to their website. Although their shipping is low ($3.00) I am an instant gratification kind of girl and decided to see if there were any stores near me that carried them. Stamp Fever was just a 20 minute drive so that saturday morning I told the kids we were going on a road trip. When we got to the store, there was a stamp class in progress. Jordan my daughter and little crafter, walked over to see what they were doing. Ivy, the teacher, was teaching a card class using Lawn Fawn stamps and let Jordan stamp on a few scraps of paper and to take home the images. I soon became a follower of the Stamp Fever blog and saw a class picture with my little crafter as part of the picture. Since that day, my daughter and I have been attending that same class taught by the lovely Ivy for the last 3 months. And in the last 3 months I've spent lots of saturdays aka paydays :-) at Stamp Fever getting to know the ladies there and they got to see more of my work as well. You never know what a simple shopping trip to a stamp store can turn into. So next time you significate other raises an eyebrow when you leave to go shopping, just tell them there may be an exciting opportunity in your future!!
