My 30th B-day invites

I finally got these done! I'm so excited!!!! We are having a "Guido/Guidette" Party for my 30th. I wanted the invites to be fun and kinda with a bachlorette party invite feel to them. Here is what I came up with. The crown is from Indie Art, the 30 is from Hannah Montana and I welded it to make the assembly easier. I wrote the poem and the lips are clip art.

Happy Birthday Card

So this card I made for a co-worker, however, the stamped image was colored in during my copic certification class. The teached said I had good blending. I also learned how to do the glow (blue) in the background using the colorless blender pen and saturating the paper. I also learned that using a dark grey instead of black looks much better (ladybug spots)

Finally the Wedding stuff I made :-)

I gifted these to my husband's niece for her wedding. I made I think 60-75 save the dates and just about 60 invites 2 of which I made in spanish :-) The stamp is from the Stampin Up wedding collection.
This is the front of the invite when it was closed. The ribbon/paper you just slide down to open. The WHITE or main part of the invite was one of those boxed wedding invite sets from Michaels. It was boring so I used only the main part of it and added their wedding colors. The yellow and green paper is also SU. Ribbon is from Michaels.
This is the whole set together and open. I was VERY happy with how it turned out! :-) In the pocket is a separate reception card as well as a response card.
This is the matching votive candles I made for the tables. I think I made 70 ish of these too! The stamp and punch is SU and I measured and printed their names on paper before I stamped and printed them.
(PS This pic I took with my new iphone 4! Doesn't it take awesome picture? lol)

Baby Shower Invitations

July and August have turned into very busy months for me with weddings and birthday parties and a baby shower. I'm hosting a baby shower for my good friend in August. I found great decorations at Oriental Trading.com and created the invite to match. Hope you like it :-) I used New Arrival for the girl, an embossing folder for the background and of course had to add some bling. When creating the poem for the inside, I wanted to incorporate her other kids as well so I made it fun and added each one of them so they too feel special.
You can see the decorations here...

Copic Ciao's

So after my certification class I came home with samples of the sketch markers and my husband and I talked about the difference. I told him that I can keep my Ciaos and add the other colors in Sketch. Well he told me to sell my ciaos and get the set of all sketch so if you are interested in my 5 month old Ciaos, please let me know. I have all 144 colors with cases.

It's official.... I'm a certified Copic designer!

So I wanted to update everyone on how my class went. It was in Riverside so it took me about an hour to get there. There were a total of about 20 ladies, mostly store owners and shop workers. I learned a few new techniques like tip to tip blending, how the blender pen REALLY works, the airbrush system, how to feather (which I was actually already doing but didn't know what it was called :-) How to put a shadow or highlight behind an image and also how to use the blender solution to create cool textures with different fabric etc. All in all I learned a lot and was also told I did good work which makes me feel great! I'm going to keep coloring and I look forward to making videos in the future with some of the techniques I've learned.

OH My what funny stories...Thanks so much Gina!
At a swarm dinner an off color comment was made about the size of the hostesses dinner. We laughed until we cried and lots of pictures were taken. The following day at the swarm, the challenge was to scrap the picts and then the hostesses' husband picked the winning LO~without knowing the joke. It was hilarious!
Thanks again!

Owl Happy Birthday Card

I made this card for my co-workers birthday today. She loves owls. I used Sugar and Spice Cricut lite cart for the owl and of course added bling!

My DD's New Cricut Bag

I bought a bag from a wonderful lady named Yvonne on the Cricut MB. She knew I was looking for a bag for my daughters baby bug and she got in touch with me. It's a jewelery tote but works perfect as a bag for her baby bug. We used Vinyl and acrylic paint to personalize it. Her name is cut out with Hello Kitty Font and the bear is cut from the new Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite cart. Of course she had to add bling to it. Not sure the bling shows up in the pictures though.

Busy Holiday Weekend

I know how much my Friend Jo loves Sunflowers so I saw this stamp and decided to make her a just cause card. Here is what I did.. I couldn't find any sunflower paper in my stash so I made some. I used a smaller stamp and some versamark and stamped the green paper. The big yellow flower is actually a half flower stamp that I stamped together to make one whole one. By putting the girl in the center I kinda hid the connection part. Inked up all the sides and added lots of bling on this one. Hope you like :-)

My First Create a Critter card

I made this card with the Create a Critter cricut cartridge for a co-workers birthday. She keeps it on her bookshelf in her office :-)

Mother's Day card

Kinda late at posting :-) but here is the Mother's day card I made for my mom. I used a dollar stamp for the image and sentiment that I got at JoAnns and colored it with Water Color pencils.

Just Cause little Snail

I just felt like making a card and didn't have a reason so I made this adorable little snail. Also, it's colored with copics but it's not copic paper it's just regular CTMH cardstock so it ran a little in a few places but I thought it was still cute enough to share :-) The paper is also CTMH and the ribbon is SU. I used the CTMH distressing inks on the edges.

June Jackpot Days - Close to my heart

This is too good to pass up! Sale ends June 30th!!! www.stuckonglue.myctmh.com

Exciting News!!!!

So last friday I got really exciting news! I got accepted to attend the Copic certification class in July! This class is mostly offered to store owners, designers, etc. Those that are not one of those can be waitlisted and if there happens to be room, you can be choosen. So I filled out the application about a month ago, sent my blog address and examples of my work as requested hoping that maybe just maybe I'd get selected. Well on friday, I got the call that I had indeed been accepted to attend and all I needed to do was fill out the registration and pay the fee.

I'm so VERY excited about this. I haven't had my copics long but I love them to pieces. I get so inspired by other peoples work and how well they color. I also kept seeing the copic certified buttons on peoples blogs and it just really got me interested in learning more. So many of you have left me wonderful comments about my work and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Many of you that follow me, I also follow and are inspired by. I can only hope that I can be an inspiration to others as well.

So the class is on July 11th in Irvine and I just cant wait!

1st Birthday Invites

I made these for a 1st Birthday. If you look down a little further to my "Invites" post, you'll see a jungle baby shower themed invite. Well the baby was born and turned 1 and I was asked to make the bday invites for the same little one I had previously made baby shower invites for :-)

Baby Shower Card

I made this card for a Co-Workers Baby Shower. Some of the other women in the room knew I scrapbooked and requested the card be passed around :-) It was nice to hear the WOW's from people I work with on a regular basis.

My DD's Bday card for my Brother

My DD (5 1/2) Jordan also made a card for my brother. She usd a CTMH stamp for the boy then hand drew the wheelchair behind it. I think this was her most creative card and I didn't help her one bit! You can't really tell from the picture but the piece under the cake is actually embossed as well. Again she also did that on her own. :-)

Birthday Card

I made this card for my little brother's 26th birthday. He is handicap so I wanted to make it fun and colorful yet simple. I colored the image with Watercolor pencils.

Mother's Day Card

This is a simple card I made for another Co-Worker. DCWV Card Stock and the little stamp is SU

More Mother's Day Cards I made for Co-Workers

These were made with Digital Stamps from Mo Manning, Copics, Oragami Paper and the Pagoda is from the Pagoda Cricut Cart!
