  1. Well, not super funny, but when I realized I had bought the same cartridge twice in the same week (just last week), I did have a good laugh at myself. How did I do that?

  2. I sat on some stickers once and didnt realize I was walking around the store with letters stuck to my behind!!

  3. I didn't begin scrapping in chronological order. I had 14 years of kids photos and such to catch up on. I scrapped the same picture twice, but with different dates. How could my son be 1yr old in one LO and 18 mos in the same pic in another LO? LOL, it was funny!!!

  4. I started a LO one day then didn't have time to scrap for a while so when I went back to it I found some journaling done for the page but it wasn't stuck down. I couldn't figure out why I would do the journaling and then not stick it down since that was all that was left to finish the page. So, I stuck it down and then went to reread it before I moved on. It turns out that I ran out of room and just finished my thought on the back, intending to redo the journaling on a new piece of paper. I had to quick pull the journaling off so I didn't have to redo the whole page.

  5. Good ones girls! I've bought the same cart twice before too!

  6. During a rainstorm our power went out so I decided to finish up some Halloween cards while it was still light out. The next day I was surprised to see that I had punched out some dark brown bats. I repunched them in black.

  7. I use to do a lot of swaps, loved the paper piecing. Anyway my DH said I should get a job and my then 4 yr. old GS said "Gammy has a job, she has her SWAMPS!" so funny!

  8. For a year on the cricut message board, I wouldn't open the blog candy posts. I figured I was over weight enough. I thought they were giving away actual candy. DUH!
Thanks for the awesome candy! Shari (cricutrookie)

  9. The first day I went to scrapbook (with brand new friends btw) I sat down and proceeded to try and cut a "frame" for my pictures. As in trying to cut out the inside of my rectangle. lol A lightbulb finally went off that I was supposed to lay the picture on the whole piece of cardstock. I looked around real quick to see if anyone thought I was as stupid as I felt. I think they noticed what I was doing, but were too nice to say anything. haha I've come a long way since then!! ;p

  12. I usually wear one of my husbands t-shirts to bed. One night I was putting some finishing touches on a card using Stickles and I absentmindedly wiped my hands on the shirt. Stickles apparently doesn't come off in the wash and the next time my husband wore the shirt there was glitter on it, and one of his friends pointed it out! It was too funny!

  13. I was at a scrapbook retreat and the electricity went out during a storm. We were die hard scrapbookers so we continued to scrapbook by candlelight. In the morning some of the colors we put together were interesting. Aaaawwww Good Times!!!!

  14. My 2 almost three year old loves to craft with me, so he had s bucket of random stamps that he likes to play with... Well we were crafting one day, and he pretended to stamp my forhead with a birdie stamp...

It wasn't until we walked to my daughter's school for pick up that a friend commented how much she like my birdie... Yup, that little stinker inked the stamp before he got me LOLOLOL

  15. Wow thanks for the chance to win Gina!

I have laughed so hard so many times that I've been brought to tears at our weekend crops! I think the funniest thing I remember happening to me personally was when I was trying to pull an all nighter by myself after everyone else went to be for the night and I took a little cat nap at my scrapping table.....with my face in my open ink pad!!!! Worst part was that I didn't realize I had a big blotch of ink on my forehead until after one of the other girls came in the next morning! lol

  16. Ok...sorry, this is the funniest thing I have and it really didn't happen to me. I hope it doesn't disqualify me :). I was at a crop with a bunch of friends and we were looking at each others layouts for the day and I came across one with a picture of my friends two sons and at the top it said "Bothers". For days I called her boys "bothers" and she finally asked me why I kept calling them bothers and I said "well that was the title of one of your pages at the crop...I thought that was your pet name for them or something." Her face turned bright red and she was like "OMG...that was suppose to say BRothers not bothers!!" We laughed until we cried. Now it is our little joke. What is even funnier is that she couldn't fix it...the glue had permenantly bonded by the time she went back to fix it. She has a great sense of humor and all is well.

  18. My funniest memory is when I made a baby centerpiece for my daughters baby shower. I told her I saw one on the message board and thought "oh, I have to scraplift this" She was laughing so hard at the term scraplift that she almost peed her pants!(of course that is easy to do when you are 9 mos pregnant)

  19. The funniest thing that's ever happened to me is when I was at a scrapbooking convention and went to the bathroom. I walked out with paper on my shoe and didn't realize until about 20 minutes later. Yikes!

  20. My funny memory happened last October at a crop. The hosts had a prize pack of paper, and whoever ran up to them first would win it. and I pushed my 9 month body around those tables so fast to get that paper pack! Everyone was laughing hysterically, I'm sure I looked like a fool! Sad part is that I don't even care for the paper I won!

  21. A couple of weeks ago, a friend was wearing a "Scrappers are acid-free" t-shirt. Her husband didn't understand the shirt so we had to explain that it was acid as in ph and not illegal substance.

  22. My DIL invited me to my first crop and she was a CM dealer. I went, of course with no supplies, but I didn't even think to bring a pic! A lady gave me a pic of her GS to scrap for the evening. This was maybe more stupid than funny. I knew I was going to buy some supplies, but didn't think about getting started that same evening. Now I take plenty of pics.

  24. My story is more pitiful than funny. I was organizing my stamps and realized I had purchased 2 of 3 different stamps. Now doing that once is bad enough but 3 times. Pitiful.

  25. OH My what funny stories...Thanks so much Gina!

At a swarm dinner an off color comment was made about the size of the hostesses dinner. We laughed until we cried and lots of pictures were taken. The following day at the swarm, the challenge was to scrap the picts and then the hostesses' husband picked the winning LO~without knowing the joke. It was hilarious!

    Thanks again!

  26. Every time I sit down to make a card or a scrapbook page I usually wind up doing something stupid! For example, I have cabinets over the area I work and one time (actually I hate to admit this but it has happened more than once hee hee)I forgot I opened it and went to stand up and hit my head on the cabinet door I had a knot on my forehead for over a week! Another thing funny under the cabinets I have strips of velcro to hold my stickles and one night (really late) I was really going to town coloring a image I had stamped out and for some reason the velcro came unstuck and my stickles fell on my head and scared me to death lol. I could keep going on and on!! Thanks for being so generous I have been wanting this cartridge really bad for a really, really long time!!!!!

  27. Great stories everyone. What a fun idea this is and how generous of you to have such a great give away.

I usually have to wait until my DS goes to bed to scrapbook, so one night he is in his bed and I go to cut some stuff out and I keep hearing him call to me. I went in to check on him and he told me "I hear you using that cricut - don't push that green button again I am trying to sleep!!" Needless to say, I didn't get much done that night - LOL!!!

  28. These are so funny!
I was invited to a weekend Scrap Retreat - my first! I was a student teacher and the other ladies (including the CM consultant who invited me) were all teachers at the school I was student teaching in. The CM consultant's 2 beloved daughters were also in attendance.
My best friend and I were sharing one bedroom upstairs, but our "private" bathroom was downstairs. There was a separate bathroom for anyone to use while cropping. So anyway, I go in our private bathroom and it smells AWFUL so I start loudly complaining to my friend about how THIS IS OUR PRIVATE BATHROOM AND THERE IS A SEPARATE BATHROOM FOR USE BY OTHERS IF THEY DON'T WANT TO GO TO THEIR OWN ROOMS, DARNIT! Next thing I know, the girl who used the bathroom (yep, the consultant's eldest and most precious daughter) came out of a bedroom right next to our bathroom and explained that it was HER who needed to use the bathroom and she ran to the closest one...I was MORTIFIED! And, no, I haven't been encouraged to go to another scrap retreat...so ladies, if anyone needs a couple extra girls to fill a retreat, call on me and my best friend. We promise we'll play nice this time! :)

  29. Ok... so here goes but it really was NOT so funny at the time.
My very best girlfriend's mother was admitted into the hospital with complications from diabetes. I decided I would make her mother a card to cheer her up a bit. The card I made was the cutest little catapiller on the front and on the inside of the card "Hope you are back on your feet really soon!" I was very proud of my sweet little card.
I got the address of the hospital she was in and rushed to the mailbox and slipped it in the slot wanting it to reach her before she went home. I had visons of her visitors and her nurses oooing and awwing over my precious little card.
Later that day I got a call from my girlfreind telling me that the doctors had had to amputate her mothers foot! Poor mommy...OH NO THAT HORRIBLE CARD! I hesitantly explained the "card thing" to my friend....there was silence on the line for a moment ...then hysterical laughter. She was laughing so hard I hardly understood her say "Thanks for that" before she said goodbye.
Horrified beyond belief I rushed to my village's little Post Office. I asked if I could please have the card back that they picked up that afternoon from our mailbox. NO GO! They explained to me that as soon as mail is put in the mailbox it becomes their property until it is delivered to the recipient. OK then. I began to explain to them about the "card thing" I could see their resolve begin to crack, they were having a very bad time hiding their amusement. But NO they still could not break policy and return the card to me.OH NO! NOW WHAT!
The next day after a restless night I called the hospital and ater explaining the "card thing" to a few more ammused people I was put through to Cindy, the girl who handled the hospital's mail. She was most understanding when I explained my situation. She said that she had not remembered seeing a card for that room but she was not able to intercept mail addressed to someone else. At least she had not received it yet.
My friend called in the afternoon from her mother's home a couple days later and told me her mother was to be released the following day. To my great releif she had still not received the card.
My friend's mother returned home the next day WITHOUT the card. The following day the hospital called her mother to say a few bouquets of flowers and a card had been delivered to the hospital for her and asked if someone could come by and pick them up. My friend sent her aunt to intercept the card and pick up the flowers at the hospital after she explained to her about the "card thing". I've been told she reportably laughed all the way to the hospital.
A few months later my friend told her mother about my "card thing" her mother too, found this very funny.I have been told that this story has become a favorite at their family functions.
Thank goodness for short hopital stays, slow mail, wonderful friends and most especially for people with a great sense of humour.

  31. When we had moved here my son was in the first grade and I would take him to school and pick him up. I would go in with him in the AM and wait with him and all the kids till the teacher got there to take them to class. Well I love to use glitter whenever I scrap or make cards and wind up "wearing it". The little girls loved it and one day one of the little boys asked "Why do you always have sparkles all over you, are you some kind of a Fairy or something!?" My Dear Son said "Kinda, she's the Cricut Glitter Fairy and it's all over the house"! He's in 4th grade now and when the kids see me at school they still call me the Sparkle Fairy. Thanks Gina for giving me a chuckle with some of the stories, I love it!

  32. Everyone's stories are so fun to read. Thanks.

When we were getting ready to move into the house we are in now, I was showing it to a friend. There is a large room where the laundry is. I told her I was going to use this room for my scrapbook room also. She said no it wouldn't work. I asked her why not. She said I can see it now, you go to the room and you say Laundry? Scrapbooking? Laundry? Scrapbooking? Scrapbooking it is. No laundry today.

Well, I do use the room and I manage to do them both daily. But I still get a chuckle when I do change the laundry out during the middle of my scrapbooking.

  33. In 2009, my 9 yr old DD and I went to NY to visit relatives. Took lots of pics, including in NYC and in front of Radio City Music Hall.

When I scrapbooked my DD's travel album I labeled it as "Radio County Music Hall." LOL
My DD figured it out and told me.

  34. I was working on a lo using small colored dots. My Boston Terrier puppy came into the room wiggling all around and playing with her toys. Next thing I knew, she came over to me and lo and behold as if placed there on purpose-was a bright pink dot perfectly centered on her little nose. She looked so cute, I had to take a picture of her. It was so funny.

  35. My 5 yr old DD likes to scrap with me. When we were making her birthday invites she wanted to help. When we cut out the cupcakes parts of them went missing... We found them stuck to her clothes that had cupcakes on them so I really didn't notice. Not sure I would have noticed if I wasn't trying to get the glitter off of her :)

  36. One time, at an all-night crop, I fell asleep scrapbooking. Right there at the table with scissors in my hands. I got glitter glue on my face, and the worst part of it was, everyone took pictures. And scrapped them! -- Devanie

  37. I hosted a little family scrapbook get together one Friday night. My mom had all of her pieces ready for her page and was gluing her title down. She found that she was missing one letter and looked everywhere and could not find it. The next day she called me and said she finally found it glued to the bottom of her sock!! We thought that was hilarious but I think it was one of those stories that you just had to be there!!

  38. I have 4 boys and have been scrappin' for a long long time ..the boys know that my craft room is Mama's room and they are not allowed inside at all ... so I am cropping one night and leave the room to get a soda and when I returned my 2 yr old comes walking out of my room with Glue Dots all over his face, nose, forehead, arms, shirt etc. We laughed and laughed so much at the sight till our stomachs hurt...what makes it worse is that my dh now reminds him and our youngest son "not to get into mommy's bugger dots" ..the boys think this is gross yet funny and I've learned to babyproof and latch my craft room door when I leave after cropping in my room :)

  39. Oh my, some of these stories are funny... I have a very similar story as one of the other posters... I was mass producing cards one day, about 12 of them, and one of my pieces that I put adhesive on was missing. Later in the day, my DD came to me and said "mommy, you have a cherry on your bum"! LOL

Thanks for the giveaway, Gina, how generous of you!

  42. Oh wow, there have been so many crazy things. One that comes to mind is a glue accident. I was going to glue some bling on a project. I picked up the bottle of craft glue and when I squeezed it, nothing came out. It was clogged. Instead of doing the right thing and unclogging it I squeezed it really hard...the entire top flew off and glue went every where!! My daughter was rolling laughing. She had been standing behind me and I didn't know it. Thankfully, it didn't ruin my project.

  45. My sil and I use to paper play once a month before she moved and we always had fun. well we would alway have something to eat that was sweet. Warm brownies this day and I got up and went to get our drinks then forgot sippy lids, hubby was in the kitchen and started laughing like a smirk at 1st then teehee ( I know i gave him the look) walked away. went into my craft room and sil said I have seen lots of words across ladies butt but never that. I thought she went nuts. what?? she said you have LOAD on you on your but in yellow letters. I had been working on a lo that was of fil and his loader. That man uses his loader for everything. Well at some point I must have got up and the paper I mounted Loader must have fell off our table and fell on my chair. I had stopped working on that lo like and hour before I got drinks, the really funny thing is the mail man came I had went out to get the package I told him not to worry about getting out of the car I would come to him. He beeped his horn at me. never done before. A few days later he came back and ask what Load ment. Where the ER went I will never know but now I have not lived this one down the mail man calls me LOAD. and the even funnier thing is my sil said you know he looked at your butt! and the funny thing is she said you forgot a word and made an big yellow sign for me that said WIDE a few weeks later. Hubby loves that one.

Not really funny but...when my car was pretty new, I got in one day and found a tiny pink bling stuck to my fingernail. I stuck it on the steering wheel on the center of the Chevy symbol. I completely forgot about - it's still there over a year later. My 17 year old DS says it bothers him and he wants me to take it off. Not gonna happen-it's MY car!

  47. I am not sure it was funny at the time but when I first started crafting I ended up in the ER! Yep pregnant and in the ER for.....STICKING A PAPER PIERCER THROUGH MY FINGER AND CUTTING NERVES! Yep I freaked, my finger swelled up to the size of a small melon and I could not bend it or anything. It was PAINFUL, funny now but painful then! LOL! No more paper piercers for me since then!

  50. My cat decided to hang out with me when I was scrapbooking one night. I got up to grab something and he decided he would rather sit on top of my storage rack where I had all my glitter, flock, ribbon, buttons, etc. Stupid me never secured the rack to the wall, so when he jumped up on it, everything came falling down. Glass breaking flock and glitter everywhere. I figured laughing was better than crying

So one time he was playing around with some of my stickers and I knew he could harm anything so I wasn't completely paying attention and he put some on my chair and of course I sat of them so I had them all over my butt and pants. Well I ended up needed something from Hobby Lobby, so we packed up and went to the store. When we were shopping he started yelling, "Momsie stickies!" We weren't in the sticker asile so I wasn't sure what he wanted. All of sudden someone said, "Do you know you have stickers all over the back of your legs?!" I was so embarassed at first! 57. This just happened, and while I didn't think it was funny, the rest of the family couldn't stop laughing. I had decided to make my own glimmer mist. I added everything to the spray bottle and got a phone call just as I put the top on. After hanging up I picked up the bottle to shake it and the top flew off and I was covered in glimmer mist! When I first started using Stickles glitter glue I didn't realize they took a long time to dry. I was finishing up a card for my hubby while he was in the shower. I thought Stickles would look nice on the envelope for some reason. I had it all done and sat it down to dry for maybe 5 minutes. I went to give it to him and, you probably guessed it, I smeared the Stickles ALL OVER the envelope, the table, and myself! Luckily I was able to wipe most of it off of the envelope (it was THAT wet still!) and no harm done. To this day though I only use Stickles when I can let my project sit overnight. I don't take any chances!
