Shop Hop 2012 - Wacky Holidays

Wow it's beena while since I posted, and to be honest I was EXTREAMLY busy and then I just haven't wanted to do anything because I was so burnt out. Being on the Design Team for Stamp Fever meant that I participated in the preparation of Shop Hop 2012. This year I designed the 6x6 scrapbook pages. I was also incharge of making 500 of them :-)!! as you can imagine that look quite some time. Here is the designs I came up with. Our theme was a secret garden so the page reflected the theme.

I also made the shirts for the Design Team.

When I wasn't making page kits or working at the store, I was able to spend the day Shop Hopping with my fellow SF Design Team member Katie and my daughter Jordan. Here are some pictures of our adventure. We went to 15 store I think, in one day. I even made a shirt for Jordan to wear. She and I were twins!

This is our favorite picture :-)

After a LONG day of Shop Hopping my little shopper feel asleep on the way home.

And here is my Shop Hop bag with all my pins :-)

So Blessed card

Here is an extra post for today :-) Yesterday I had a Board meeting and started work at 6am with just 5 hours of sleep the night before. To get through my meeting a HAD TO drink  a 5 hour energy (I hate them and NEVER drink them). My husband went to his basketball game and my kids were off at my moms so I figured I'd rest and fall asleep around 8pm. But NO I was wrong! I relaxed for a few hours then got the crafting bug. So at 8pm when I thought I'd be sleeping, I was making a card.

Here is the drawing I made during my Board Meeting lunch...

Here is what I created...
I've been wanting to use this Penny Black cling stamp "Posies" since I bought it. I used memento markers to color the flowers and leaves then HUFFED on it with my hot air :-) and stamped it. A little distressing and some Martha Stewart punched Butterflies and this card was created. Hope you like it. Next Wednesday is my Design Team Wednesday on the Stamp Fever Blog and I'm going to make a tutorial on how to color your stamps with ink markers.  I'll post it here as well when I'm done.

Card Samples for my Coloring class

Here are the card samples for my coloring class using Penny Black stamps from their new Summer Collection. I'm in love!!

Wow I've been MIA....

Hello all,

Seems as though I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been taking a little time off (a month and a half) from my classes due to the memorial day holiday. So we've spent more time outdoor with nice weather and I've had less time to craft. I do have 2 classes coming up. For my regular class I have this idea of creating cards with a scene. I have a friend, baby shower and Birthday card planned. The first 2 I've created already and I'll work on the final b-day card tonight and I promise to post all 3 here tomorrow. Once I finish that one, I'll get creating for my coloring class. My idea is to teach about adding texture. We'll see what I end up with :-)

On another front, I'm excited to share that on June 28th I'll be attending the Intermediate Copic Certification class. I can't wait to learn new things and work more on my coloring skills. It's an ALL DAY class from 9am to 8pm!!!! I'm going to be tired at the end of the day but good thing I have the following day off work! We leave for a short family summer vacation to Palm Springs for a few days that Saturday. So between coloring and vacation, I'm going to be one happy camper!

Stay tuned tomorrow for pictures!

Happy Crafting,
Gina

Playing with Watercolor pencils

I made this card for a client for Mother's day. I was so happy with the way it turned out and I wanted to share it with you :-)
The stamp is Hero Arts Hydrangea. I stamped the image with Browm ink and colored it in with Prisma water color pencils and used a blender pen to blend and spread the color. When using pencils, you just need to add spots of color and then use a blender pen, water brush or paint brush with water to spread the color. There is no need to actually color in the whole image with the pencils. I used a spellbinders die to cut out the card as well as the frame and center image section. The butterfly is a Martha Stuart punch and the sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp.

My Next Coloring Class Samples

Well I woke up early today and while my husband was golfing, my son was playing wii and my daughter was sleeping, I sat down to color the cards for my next coloring class. These samples are colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. I haven't colored the copic versions yet. Hope you like them, they still have a possible Mother's Day card feel to them. I kept the base white to show off the coloring this time.

This card is stamped with Penny Black's Spring Beauty and the sentiment is from Penny Black's "Graditude"

This card is Stamped with Penny Black's Mosaic and the sentiment is also from Penny Black's "Gratitude"

My Next Card Class Samples

Hello everyone in Blogland,

I've been very busy making tons of invitations but finally got around to making my card samples for my next class at Stamp Fever on Tues. April 24, and Sat. April 28. Here they are with a little description of what stamps I used. I made these with Mother's Day in mind but designed them to be used for any occasion. All 3 cards use the same pink and green tones and all pieces used are Kraft Cardstock. This way, it can also make the perfect set of cards as well. Hope you like them. They have had a great response on Flickr so far.

First lets start with my sketches. I actually thought these up and drew them in a staff meeting. I pay more attention when I doodle :-)

Rose Blossom
This card is made using the new LaBlanche Rose Blossom stamp. The sentiment is from Penny Black Gratitude.

Happy Mother's Day
This card is made using the new Penny Black Background Delicate Pattern cling stamp. The sentiment is Hero Arts Everyday Sayings. The Flower is first stamped with Hero Arts Small Solid Flower then cut with a punch. The leaves are stamped with the Hero Arts Vine Background then punched as well.
AND for my FAVORITE!!

Soft Wings
This card is made using the new Penny Black Soft Wings cling stamp. The sentiment is also Penny Black and is called Gratitude. The background both on the front and inside are Hero Arts Vine Background and Music Background Stamps. The banner is from Lawn Fawn and is called Bannerific.

My Next Coloring Class

It's that time again already for my next coloring Class. I have 2 classes this Saturday April 7th at 11:00 and 1:30 and again on Tuesday the 10th at 6pm. Here are the cards I made for class.

This first card sample is made using the Stampendous stamp called Daisy Thanks and is colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

The second card sample is an adorable Penny Black stamp called Toadily Happy and is colored with Copics. I'll list the colors later today I left them at home :-) I just adore this set!

I am coloring the images in both Spectrum and Copic colors and will post the other cards later tonight.
